The Trail des Rois Maudits takes runners through the historic Normandy countryside around Romilly-sur-Andelle, where medieval legends still linger in the valleys and forests. With four distances from 13km to 60km, this late September event offers options for different ambitions, though the terrain demands respect — the longest route climbs 2,650 metres through rolling hills and wooded trails of the Andelle valley. The courses wind through landscapes steeped in the history that inspired Maurice Druon's famous novels about the cursed French kings. It's a proper challenge that rewards runners with beautiful Norman scenery and a deep sense of the region's storied past.
