Trail des Anges explores the rugged backcountry of Les Mayons in Provence's Var region, where forests of cork oak and chestnut give way to rocky Mediterranean hillsides. The 25km course with 1,240 metres of climbing introduces runners to the area's varied terrain, while the 46km route tackles nearly 2,000 metres of elevation gain for those ready to venture deeper into the massif. March brings mild temperatures and the first wildflowers dotting the trails, though the longer climbs demand steady pacing and strong legs. The landscape feels pleasantly remote despite being inland from the coast, with views stretching across forested valleys toward distant peaks.
