Trail delle Cesane winds through the rolling hills above Fossombrone in Italy's Marche region, where runners traverse ancient paths connecting medieval villages to mountain ridges. The event offers two courses: a 12km route with 629 metres of climbing that introduces runners to the area's characteristic limestone slopes, and a more substantial 22km option gaining 1146 metres as it explores deeper into the Cesane massif. Both routes showcase the region's distinctive landscape of oak forests, wildflower meadows, and sweeping views toward the Adriatic. The courses follow well-marked trails that local shepherds and pilgrims have used for centuries, blending natural beauty with layers of human history.
