TRAIL DELLE 2 AQUILE

The Trail delle 2 Aquile explores both sides of the Scrivia Valley in Liguria's Apennines, offering three distances from 21km to a demanding 55km ultra. The longest route earns its Two Eagles name by summiting both Monte Reale and Monte Prelà, linked by technical trails through historic hamlets like Bastia and Pietrafraccia. Runners pass stone villages, catch views of the dramatic Castello della Pietra perched on its rock, and climb through chestnut forests on old mule tracks and forest paths. The 55km course packs in nearly 2,700 metres of elevation gain, while shorter options of 34km and 21km offer their own mountain challenges. Six aid stations staffed by local volunteers support runners through this genuine mountain experience in a quieter corner of northern Italy.
