Set in the hills above Genova, the Trail del Diamante Memorial Cristiano Capelli offers a challenging tribute run through Ligurian terrain. The course winds through rugged backcountry overlooking Italy's northwestern coast, with two distances that both demand respect. The 24-kilometre route climbs over 1,200 metres through technical terrain, while the 45-kilometre pushes into serious mountain territory with 2,500 metres of elevation gain. This memorial event brings the local trail community together each October, combining the physical challenge of sustained climbs and rocky descents with the quieter purpose of honouring a fellow runner. Best suited for those comfortable with steep, technical mountain terrain.
