Set in the rolling countryside of Brittany, the Trail de la Vallée du Couesnon explores the gentle hills and riverside paths around Mézières-sur-Couesnon. The event offers something for everyone, from an accessible 8km route perfect for those taking their first steps into trail running, to a more challenging 40km course with 900m of climbing for experienced runners. The middle distances — 12km, 14km, and 20km options — provide just enough elevation to feel like proper trail running without being overwhelming. The Couesnon valley itself is known for its peaceful, agricultural landscape and small woodland sections that make for pleasant running terrain, especially in spring when the countryside comes alive.
