Skyrace del Voltigno

The Skyrace del Voltigno explores the wild karst plateau above Villa Celiera in Abruzzo, where ridgelines stretch between provinces and the terrain shifts from rocky trails to high mountain pastures. Three distances traverse this rugged landscape: an 18-kilometre route with 1184 metres of climbing, a 34-kilometre middle option gaining 1926 metres, and a 61-kilometre ultra covering 3586 metres of elevation. The courses wind through the Voltigno mountain range, following ancient shepherd paths and crossing open plateaus with views that stretch across the Apennines. This is remote trail running in one of Italy's less-travelled mountain regions, where the courses demand solid experience with technical terrain and sustained climbing.
