The Piglione Trail ventures deep into the Apuan Alps, linking two dramatic peaks — Prana and Piglione — while winding through 14 traditional mountain villages. Three distances suit different ambitions: an 18-kilometre route (999 metres of climbing) for those testing steeper terrain, a 37-kilometre option (2,033 metres), and a demanding 57-kilometre ultra that climbs over 3,000 metres. The course showcases the raw, marble-veined beauty of the Apuan range, where sharp ridges meet terraced hillsides and centuries-old hamlets. Based in San Rocco in Turrite, the event offers a genuine immersion in Tuscany's lesser-known high country, far from the usual tourist trails.
