The Monte Morello Skyrun traces a compelling loop through the forested slopes above Florence, offering runners a genuine taste of Tuscan mountain terrain. Starting from Colonnata, the route climbs steadily for 8 kilometres through mixed singletrack and forestry roads, passing the old Mulino di Gualdo mill before reaching the ridgeline. The notorious Rompistinchi section — a short, punishing climb — grants access to the mountain's three main summits, where views open across the Florence plain and the Apennines. After touching each peak, the course descends past the Fonte dei Seppi aid station, climbs briefly to Poggio al Giro, then commits to a long 7-kilometre descent through Torre di Baracca and the chapel at Carmignanello. With over 1,200 metres of climbing packed into 21 kilometres, this November race demands solid mountain fitness and comfort with technical terrain.
