About this event
The MÁTRA 115 Community Trail ventures into Hungary's highest mountain range, offering two demanding ultras through the volcanic peaks of the Mátra. Runners tackle either the 87-kilometre route with 4,383 metres of climbing or the full 118-kilometre challenge with nearly 6,000 metres of elevation gain. These are serious mountain tests winding through beech forests and across ridgelines where the landscape reveals the region's ancient volcanic origins. The strong local organization brings a genuine community feel, making this both a challenging athletic endeavour and a chance to discover a lesser-known corner of Central European trail running while connecting with Hungarian mountain culture.
