Set in the historic town of St-Maurice, Les Défis des Chalets offers an autumn adventure through the Swiss Alps with routes for every level. The courses wind through alpine terrain locals describe as a roller coaster of ups and downs, making for a memorable mid-October outing. Newcomers can start with the 7km (424m elevation) or 12km (384m elevation) routes to get a taste of mountain running, while the 24km (1649m elevation) provides a proper alpine challenge. The 41km (3345m elevation) is reserved for seasoned runners seeking a serious test of endurance. The varied terrain and four distance options make this particularly welcoming for those taking their first steps into trail running.
