Le défi de fort lécluse

Set around the historic Fort de l'Écluse in eastern France, this trail race weaves through villages and forests before tackling its signature challenge: 917 stone steps carved through the fort itself. Runners choose between 12 kilometres with 630 metres of climbing or 19 kilometres with 800 metres, both mixing roads, wide trails, and technical single track. The route passes through Léaz and Longeray, with the longer option offering varied terrain that shifts from flowing sections to technical climbs. The finish line sits at the Vierge de Léaz belvedere, a classified viewpoint overlooking the valley — a fitting reward for steady climbing legs and an appreciation for running through history.
