This winter ultra takes runners into the Arctic wilderness of Finnish Lapland, well beyond the polar circle. The 100-kilometre course winds through snow-laden forests and across frozen lakes, following groomed trails through some of Europe's most remote terrain. Running at this latitude in late February means long twilight hours and genuine chances of seeing the northern lights overhead. The event weaves in elements of Sami culture, offering runners a window into traditions shaped by these northern latitudes. With just 750 metres of elevation gain, the challenge here isn't the climbing — it's the distance, the cold, and the sheer otherworldliness of winter running in Lapland.
