La Gresylienne weaves between lakeside trails and mountain paths near Grèsy-sur-Aix in the French Alps, with Lake Bourget providing a stunning backdrop throughout. Four distances cater to everyone: a gentle 9-kilometre route with 248 metres of climbing introduces newcomers to trail running, while a 15-kilometre option (479 metres elevation) and 24-kilometre course (1,172 metres) gradually raise the stakes. The 40-kilometre route, with 1,657 metres of ascent, ventures deeper into Savoie's terrain, combining lakeside stretches with substantial mountain sections. Late September timing means comfortable temperatures and autumn colours beginning to emerge. It's an accessible way to discover this corner of the Alps, where water meets peaks.
