The Grand Raid de Camargue opens up a protected landscape that's accessible only once a year during this event. Runners traverse private beaches, pink salt flats, and water crossings on dikes and rocks, where pink flamingos wade through the wetlands. The courses follow behind Camargue horses at the start and finish in the traditional arenas of Arles. Six distances ranging from 12km to 100km suit different experience levels, all remarkably flat with minimal elevation gain. The race operates under strict environmental guidelines certified by the Camargue Regional Natural Park, protecting this fragile Mediterranean delta ecosystem while offering runners a rare glimpse into one of France's most distinctive wild landscapes.
