Gorbeia Suzien Skyrace

The Gorbeia Suzien Skyrace brings runners into the Gorbeia Natural Park, one of the Basque Country's wildest corners. The 32km Skyrace climbs 2400 metres through technical terrain where ancient beech forests give way to dramatic limestone ridges, with views sweeping across the green valleys of Vizcaya. The 21km option covers 1200 metres of ascent, offering a genuine taste of the park's rugged character. Both routes pass through traditional shepherding country dotted with stone farmhouses, following rocky ascents, steep descents and exposed ridgelines that demand full attention. Late September typically brings crisp mountain air and shifting light across the forests. This is mountain running as it should be—challenging, technical and deeply rooted in the landscape.
