Cursa Neandertal

The Cursa Neandertal takes runners through wild, forested terrain around Capellades, where dense canopy lets through only scattered rays of light. Named after the Neanderthals who once roamed these lands, the event offers three distances — 10km with 483 metres of climbing, 13km with 582 metres, and 23km with 1,673 metres — all welcoming to newcomers. The longest route explores iconic local spots like the Miramar peak and the historic watchtower at Turó de l'Avellana, weaving through narrow singletracks that cross the Anoia River multiple times. The trails purposefully retain their raw, overgrown character, giving runners a taste of untamed landscape. With challenging climbs and technical descents through lush vegetation, it's an atmospheric journey through Catalonia's less-travelled hills.
