Big Bears Ultra

The Big Bears Ultra ventures deep into Slovakia's Malá Fatra mountains, where three challenging routes test experienced ultra runners against serious alpine terrain. The 42km tackles nearly 1,800m of climbing, the 63km pushes past 3,200m of ascent, and the full 118km accumulates over 6,000m of elevation gain. Technical trails wind through forested slopes and exposed ridges in one of Central Europe's most underrated mountain ranges. Based in Žilina, this September event attracts runners seeking wild, less-traveled routes with genuine alpine character. The rugged Slovak highlands demand solid mountain experience and reward it with raw, spectacular terrain far from the usual ultra racing circuit.
