Toughest Sälen transforms Kläppen Ski Resort into an alpine obstacle playground each August. The event blends Sweden's mountain terrain with purpose-built challenges, creating courses that test strength, agility, and problem-solving skills. Four distance options welcome different experience levels, from a family-friendly 2km introduction to the double-distance 16km course. While the alpine setting provides a dramatic backdrop, this is fundamentally an obstacle race rather than a traditional trail run — expect walls to scale, cargo nets to climb, and plenty of mud between the mountain views. The weekend format allows participants to tackle multiple courses or simply enjoy the energetic atmosphere of a mountain festival.
