Olympus Marathon

The Olympus Marathon follows the ancient pilgrims' route up Greece's legendary mountain, starting among the marble ruins of Dion and climbing toward Zeus' Throne peak. This 44km course gains 3,200 meters through mythological terrain, mixing technical mountain trails with historic stone pathways that have been maintained since classical times. Runners pass through diverse ecosystems, from Mediterranean forests to alpine ridges, before descending to the coastal town of Litochoro. As a WMRA Gold Label race, it attracts experienced mountain runners ready for a serious physical and historical journey. The combination of Greece's highest peak, ancient history, and challenging terrain creates a rare mountain running experience.
