The Gorbeia Suzien Skyrace takes runners into the heart of the Basque Country's Gorbeia Natural Park, where ancient beech forests meet dramatic limestone peaks. The 32km Skyrace tackles 2400m of climbing through technical mountain terrain, rewarding the effort with sweeping views across the green valleys of Vizcaya. For those building up their mountain legs, the 21km route offers a solid introduction to the park's rugged character with 1200m of elevation. Both courses wind through traditional Basque shepherding country, where stone farmhouses dot the landscape. The terrain demands respect—rocky ascents, steep descents, and exposed ridgelines keep runners engaged throughout. It's a proper mountain challenge in one of northern Spain's most beautiful natural spaces.
