Carnava'trail de Mamirolle

Set in the rolling countryside near Besançon, the Carnava'trail de Mamirolle brings a festive carnival spirit to trail running. The event offers three distinct routes through the Doubs region's wooded hills and pastoral landscapes, each climbing gradually through mixed terrain of forest paths and open meadows. The 10km course with 350 metres of climbing provides a solid introduction to trail running, while the shorter 5km option makes it accessible for those taking their first steps off road. The 20km route ventures deeper into the surrounding valleys, offering more sustained climbs and technical descents. Late March timing means runners often encounter the fresh green of early spring, with wildflowers beginning to dot the hillsides.
