About this event
The Zeiler Waldmarathon takes runners through the forests around Zeil am Main, a charming town in Bavaria's Franconia region. Set in late autumn when the woods take on their final golden hues, the event offers three distance options that wind through the Steigerwald forest trails. The full marathon and half marathon challenge more experienced runners with forest paths and rolling terrain, while a 7.5km Nordic walking option provides a gentler way to enjoy the woodland setting. The course showcases the natural beauty of this lesser-known corner of Germany, where quiet forest trails replace the usual race-day crowds. It's a proper forest run for those who appreciate the simple pleasure of running among the trees.
