The Winter Wanderlust Ultra covers 50 kilometres through Kent's North Downs, threading ancient woodlands, chalk valleys, and historic landmarks. Starting from Detling, the route climbs through Boxley Warren before joining the North Downs Way past Thurnham Castle's ruins and across the Kent Downs. Runners pass Lenham Cross, a hillside war memorial, then weave through farmland and sheltered woods toward Wye. The final section explores Wye Downs Nature Reserve, ascending to the Wye Crown landmark before descending through Devils Kneading Trough, a steep natural valley overlooking the Weald. With 810 metres of climbing and varied winter terrain, this December trail demands steady pacing and rewards runners with Kent's atmospheric countryside.
