Vasaloppet Ultravasan transforms the legendary Vasaloppet ski route into a summer trail challenge through Sweden's northern wilderness. Starting at dawn in Sälen, the 92km course follows the same historic path cross-country skiers have travelled for nearly a century, winding through pine forests, marshlands and past traditional mountain farms before finishing in Mora. The sunrise over Smågan's wetlands offers a memorable highlight. Shorter 30km and 44km options provide entry points, though the full distance remains a serious undertaking through remote backcountry. The event preserves the Vasaloppet's pioneering spirit while showcasing the Swedish landscape in its summer aspect, when the trails that lie beneath winter snow reveal themselves in forest light.
