About this event

UltraKotlina traces a complete loop around the Jelenia Góra Valley, weaving through four mountain ranges in a single journey. Starting from Szklarska Poręba in the Karkonosze Mountains, the route passes through dramatic glacial cirques before climbing to Śnieżka, the highest point on the course. From there it traverses the Rudawy Janowickie range, passing medieval castle ruins on the way to Janowice Wielkie. Six distances are offered, from 15 kilometres to 142 kilometres, though all tackle technical mountain terrain suited to experienced trail runners. The longest option covers nearly 4,800 metres of climbing, making it one of the more demanding challenges in the region. October timing brings crisp autumn conditions and likely stunning foliage along the forested sections.
