ULTRA TRAIL DEL MOSCATO
About this event
The Ultra Trail del Moscato runs through the UNESCO-protected Langhe hills of Piedmont, where wild forests give way to terraced vineyards famous for wine and hazelnuts. Three distances — 20km, 53km, and 109km — follow ancient paths once used by Romans, including sections of the Grande Traversata delle Langhe. Runners ford two rivers and cross fourteen communes, with the Alps stretching from Liguria to Monte Rosa as a backdrop. The terrain demands respect, with substantial climbing through varied landscapes. The 109km course tackles over 5,400 metres of elevation, while the 20km offers a shorter mountain experience through the same captivating wine country. Late September timing brings the vendemmia (grape harvest) and autumn colours to the hills.
