The Taunton Flyer weaves through the historic countryside of East Devon and Somerset, connecting former RAF airfields from Britain's wartime past. Starting from Smeatharpe Airfield near Honiton, riders traverse rolling terrain that includes challenging climbs through the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Three routes cater to experienced cyclists: the Spitfire covers 37 miles, the Dakota extends to 63 miles, and the demanding Wellington route spans 101 miles. The course combines fast, open roads with testing ascents, making it an ideal early-season challenge for those seeking both fitness and a journey through aviation history. Proceeds support SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.
