Szádvár Trail

Set in northern Hungary's Aggtelek Karst region, Szádvár Trail runs through forested hills near the medieval ruins of Szádvár Castle. The event offers four distances, from a gentle 9km option perfect for first-timers to a demanding 69km ultra with over 2100 metres of climbing across limestone valleys and ridges. The 21km and 43km routes sit comfortably in between, giving intermediate runners a solid challenge. Forest paths mix with technical rocky sections typical of karst terrain, and late October brings comfortable temperatures plus autumn colours through the beech woods. It's a welcoming event that lets runners choose their own adventure in one of Hungary's most distinctive landscapes.
