About this event
SkyRun the Mournes takes runners into Northern Ireland's most dramatic mountain range, where granite peaks and sweeping moorland create a wild, exposed landscape. Based in the coastal town of Newcastle, the event offers three challenging distances: a 20km route with 1,300 metres of climbing, a 35km middle option tackling 2,700 metres, and a full 50km ultra reaching 3,600 metres of elevation gain. This is proper mountain terrain with rocky ridges, technical descents, and exposed ground requiring solid navigation skills. The Kingdom of Mourne rewards experienced trail runners with raw, rugged beauty and a serious physical test in one of Ireland's most striking mountain environments.
