Set in the heart of North Yorkshire's market town, the Skipton Sweetie Skedaddle offers six distances from 5km to marathon, winding through countryside and along peaceful canal paths. The course mixes flat, runnable sections with gentle rolling terrain, making the shorter distances accessible while the 20-miler and marathon provide a proper challenge for experienced runners. Organized by the local running community, the event strikes a nice balance between festive fun and genuine competition. Every finisher earns a medal and the namesake sweet treat, while category winners take home additional prizes. Starting from Craven Leisure Centre, the routes showcase Skipton's scenic surroundings — a satisfying way to start the year with some proper miles in the legs.
