This canal-side event follows the scenic Huddersfield Narrow Canal through the heart of the Pennines, starting and finishing in the characterful village of Slaithwaite. Runners tackle an undulating towpath route that weaves past historic canal locks and the impressive Tunnel End, where the waterway burrows beneath the moorland hills. With distances ranging from 5km to a full marathon, there's a challenge for most abilities, though the terrain's rolling nature means even shorter routes have their moments. Well-supported with feed stations and marshals throughout, the event has a friendly, community feel. The local centre provides all the essentials — registration, facilities, and bag drop. A proper northern trail run with industrial heritage and natural beauty in equal measure.
