The Romeo & Giulietta Run Half Marathon brings thousands of runners to Verona each February, timed around Valentine's Day in the city that inspired Shakespeare's famous love story. The course winds twice through Verona's UNESCO-listed old town, passing landmarks like Juliet's balcony, Piazza delle Erbe, and the ancient Arena before finishing inside Stadio Bentegodi. With over 8,500 participants across three formats — including a relay where teammates hand off with a kiss and a Family Run for all ages — the event balances competitive road running with the romantic atmosphere Verona is known for. The course design favors speed while showcasing the city's Renaissance architecture and historic streets, making it popular with both local runners and visitors discovering this corner of northern Italy.
