About this event
The Estra Florence Marathon takes runners on a 42.195km journey through one of Europe's most stunning Renaissance cities. The course weaves past iconic landmarks like the Duomo, follows the historic banks of the Arno, and cuts through lively piazzas where locals turn out in force. What makes this marathon special is the setting itself — Florence's architecture provides an ever-changing backdrop that transforms the race into equal parts athletic challenge and moving tour. With over four decades of history, the event draws an international field and features both competitive and non-competitive marathon options. The race weekend includes an expo and various running-related gatherings, creating a full cultural experience beyond race day.
