Set in the Allgäu Alps near the Austrian border, MOUNTAINMAN Nesselwang sends runners through Bavaria's rolling mountain terrain on trails that weave between forest paths, alpine meadows, and viewpoint climbs. The event caters to a wide range of abilities, from a 9-kilometre taster with 747 metres of climbing to a full 70-kilometre mountain challenge with nearly 4,000 metres of ascent. Mid-distance options at 22, 33, and 43 kilometres give runners room to step up gradually or find their sweet spot. The varied landscape around Nesselwang rewards every distance with classic alpine scenery, making late August in southern Germany a fitting time to test mountain legs or simply enjoy the trails.
