Set along a former railway line through the Peak District, this event takes runners on a peaceful, traffic-free route that winds through the Derbyshire Dales. The course starts near Bakewell and follows the historic Monsal Trail, passing through four old railway tunnels and crossing the impressive Monsal Viaduct, with views opening up across rolling hills at every turn. Runners can choose between a half marathon or 10k distance, with races held on both Saturday and Sunday — making it possible to run one day or tackle both. The flat, well-maintained surface suits those building up autumn mileage or looking for a scenic, runnable route through one of England's most beautiful landscapes.
