Monsal Trail March Half Marathon & 10k Weekend

The Monsal Trail Half Marathon follows a former railway line through the Peak District's limestone valleys, starting from historic Bakewell Station. Runners traverse four tunnels hewn through the hillsides and cross the elegant Monsal Viaduct, which offers sweeping views across the dale. The traffic-free, relatively flat course winds through some of Derbyshire's most striking countryside, where the old railway cuts reveal layers of sedimentary rock and woodland frames distant ridgelines. While the terrain itself is accessible, the distance and trail surface make it suited to runners comfortable with longer efforts. The weekend format allows participants to focus on a single race or tackle both days for extended mileage.
