Lake Garda 42 takes runners along the stunning shoreline of Italy's largest lake, with the dramatic backdrop of the Dolomites rising in the distance. Starting from the charming lakeside town of Limone sul Garda, the route follows smooth lakeside roads that wind between historic tunnels and clifftop panoramas. Runners can choose between the full 42km marathon or a 21km half, both offering consistent stretches of relatively flat terrain alongside crystal-blue waters. The intermediate and advanced profiles make this better suited for runners with some road racing experience, though the scenery provides plenty of motivation through any challenging moments. Spring timing means mild temperatures and the lake at its most inviting, with Alpine peaks still snow-capped above.
