Königsschlösser Marathon

The Königsschlösser Marathon winds through Bavaria's East Allgäu, starting in the charming town of Füssen and offering three distances from 10K to full marathon. The route splits evenly between asphalt and forest trails, passing through the Hopfer forest and along the peaceful shores of Lake Hopfensee and Lake Forggensee. The course crosses the Lech River floodplains before reaching its showstopper: views of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, two of Germany's most iconic landmarks. With lush meadows, mountain panoramas, and those fairytale castle silhouettes, it's easy to see why over 800 runners return each year. The event includes a finisher's medal, downloadable certificate, professional timing, and a pre-race pasta party to fuel up properly.
