Leipziger Wintermarathon

About this event

The Leipziger Wintermarathon brings mid-January running to Germany's historic Saxon city. Runners tackle either a full marathon or half-marathon through Leipzig's urban landscape, where baroque architecture meets vibrant street art. Winter running here means crisp air and a distinctive atmosphere, though the cold temperatures and potentially icy roads demand respect and preparation. The city itself rewards finishers with cozy cafés and a rich cultural scene perfect for post-race recovery. A solid choice for experienced runners maintaining winter fitness or chasing early-season goals in a city that blends history with modern energy.
