Karpenissi Trail

About this event

Karpenissi Trail takes runners into the mountains of central Greece in early October, when autumn colours transform the landscape around Megalon Khorion. Two routes showcase the region's rugged terrain: a 13km course climbing 887 metres and a 25km option ascending 1,818 metres. Both wind through forests and along ridgelines that reveal the wild character of the Karpenissi area. The elevation profile on each demands solid mountain fitness and respect for the terrain. October brings cooler temperatures and a chance to discover a different side of Greece, in a region celebrated for its natural springs and traditional mountain villages far from the coast.
