The Jurassic Miles takes runners into the rugged limestone terrain around Rovereto, where ancient trails wind through northern Italy's mountains. The event follows a loop-based format, with the 161-kilometre route demanding over 6,000 metres of climbing across seven loops — a true test of endurance and familiarity with the course. The 69-kilometre option condenses this challenge into three loops plus an out-and-back section, while the 23-kilometre distance offers a single loop with 864 metres of gain. Cutoff times range from 13 to 32 hours depending on distance, giving experienced ultra runners the space to dig deep. The terrain is technical and demanding, best suited to those comfortable with sustained vertical effort and mountain trails.
