The routes wind through the volcanic terrain surrounding Ásvellir, with three distances (14km, 17km, and 21km) exploring lava fields and rolling uplands. While the elevation gains range from 255 to 425 metres, the technical nature of Icelandic trails and exposed terrain mean runners should come prepared for changing conditions.
