About this event
The GTH Mountain Festival explores Mount Hymettus, the historic ridge overlooking Athens that has drawn hikers and runners for centuries. The flagship 103km route circumnavigates the entire mountain massif through a night-to-day journey, weaving between technical singletrack and forest roads with 5,400 metres of climbing. Three shorter distances (11km, 22km, and 37km) offer accessible entry points to this rugged terrain just minutes from the Greek capital. Starting from Paiania on a December evening, runners experience Hymettus in its quieter winter season, when the Mediterranean light plays across ancient trails and the distant city lights create a striking backdrop.
