The Greensand Country Ultra Trail winds through 50km of Bedfordshire's distinctive sandy ridges and gentle countryside. This single-loop route connects charming rural villages through peaceful trails, offering noticeably flatter terrain than many UK ultras. The course showcases the unique Greensand landscape — ancient woodlands, rolling farmland, and quiet paths that give each section its own character. After taking 2025 off, the event returns in 2026 with a route that's fast enough for those chasing times but scenic enough to make the distance fly by. The village-to-village progression creates a real sense of journey, with the softer terrain underfoot making it an accessible option for runners stepping up to ultra distance.
