Extrem Maraton Oscadnica

The Extrem Maraton Oscadnica takes runners on a 41-kilometre loop through the rolling mountains of Slovakia's Kysuce region. The route follows marked hiking trails along scenic ridges, climbing over 1,600 metres to reach the area's highest point at Veľká Rača (1,236 metres). The course circles the village of Oščadnica, winding through peaceful forests and offering sweeping views across this quieter corner of the Slovak mountains. The terrain demands steady mountain running experience, but rewards with the kind of tranquil, forested trails that make Slovak trail running special. Mid-October timing brings autumn colours and crisp mountain air — a proper mountain challenge away from the crowds.
