The Damscheider Kuckuckstrail brings trail running to the forested hills of Damscheid, offering two well-balanced routes through the German countryside. The 9-kilometre course makes an ideal first trail race, with 230 metres of gentle elevation gain allowing newcomers to focus on enjoying the terrain. More experienced runners can tackle the 21-kilometre route, which weaves through 660 metres of rolling climbs and descents. Set in mid-October when the forest displays its autumn colours, this event captures the essence of local trail running — unpretentious, welcoming, and rooted in its landscape.
