The Camino Epping Forest Ultra takes runners deep into one of London's most atmospheric ancient woodlands. This 50-kilometre journey weaves through centuries-old beech pollards and dense forest paths, offering a surprisingly wild escape just beyond the city limits. With 515 metres of elevation gain spread across rolling terrain, the course demands respect — technical sections and navigation through the forest's network of trails keep runners engaged throughout. The October timing brings autumn colours to the historic woodland, where remnants of royal hunting grounds meet modern trail running. Best suited for those comfortable with longer distances and woodland navigation.
