The Christmas Calverley Chaos offers a playful twist on traditional trail racing. Runners tackle a 12km loop along the Calverley Millennium Way, but here's the catch — half the field runs clockwise while the other half goes anti-clockwise, creating an entertaining challenge as paths cross throughout. The route winds through West Yorkshire countryside with 200m of climbing, following well-marked trails with marshals at key junctions. It's an approachable distance that still tests navigation skills when familiar terrain suddenly looks different from the opposite direction.
