Bologna Marathon

The Bologna Marathon offers runners a chance to explore one of Italy's most beautiful cities on foot. Three distances are available — a full marathon, the scenic 30km Portici route that winds through Bologna's famous covered walkways, and a half marathon — each officially recognized by the Italian Athletics Federation. The courses weave through streets lined with medieval towers, Renaissance palaces, and the city's distinctive terracotta architecture. After the finish, Piazza Maggiore becomes the heart of the celebration, where runners can enjoy Bologna's legendary food scene and soak up the atmosphere of this historic university city. Bologna is well-connected by train and easily reached from G. Marconi Airport, making it a convenient destination for combining serious running with Italian culture and cuisine.
